Newly crowned GT4 European Series champion Alec Udell will return to the SRO Motorsports America competition this weekend at Road America, having been confirmed in GMG Racing’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport for in the pair of Pirelli GT4 America SprintX rounds.

Udell will join season-long GT4 America Sprint driver Jason Bell at the wheel of the No. 2 Porsche, making his first series start since the season-opening weekend at Circuit of The Americas in March, also with Bell and GMG.

The Clemson University graduate was crowned GT4 European Silver Cup champion alongside Dutchman Simon Knap earlier this month at the wheel of a BMW M4 GT4.

“Following COTA, Jason and I have been wanting to do some more races together this year but the European GT4 series along with some coaching conflicts I’ve had made it impossible,” Udell explained.

“We made it work for this weekend at Road America.

“I am happy to be back with Neville and the group at GMG. We’ve had success together before and I think with Jason, we can again.

“I’m glad to be racing back in my home country. Jason and Andrew Davis made some nice progress with the car at Watkins Glen. I’m looking forward to building on that work to see where we can take the car Road America.”
