ST Racing has committed to Pirelli GT4 America West competition, with Jason Wolfe joining Samatha Tan at the wheel of the team’s BMW M4 GT4 next year.
Wolfe, who raced alongside Tan in the TC division in 2015, will team up for a run at the Pro-Am class championship in the regional series, which features five of the ten GT4 America SprintX weekends.
He replaces Nick Wittmer as Tan’s co-driver for 2019.
“I am extremely happy with the opportunity to be able to join Samantha in the beginning stages of her path to 24-hour races,” Wolfe said.
“Racing together with Sam back in 2015 with Kinetic Motorsports showed we worked well together as a team and I noticed right away she had a lot of passion for the sport.
“More importantly, during that time I saw a lot of things click and develop with her driving.
“To me, this shows a lot of promise for the years to come. I have kept up on her racing these past few years and she has clearly grown as a driver. I am excited to see what we can accomplish together as we share the car in 2019.”
In addition, Kinetic Motorsports co-owner Nic Jonsson, who works with Wolfe, has been brought in as a coach for both Wolfe and Tan.
Team principal Kenneth Tan said the recent additions to the operation is part of its “evolutionary strategy” towards his daughter’s driver development program.
“Their addition tremendously increases our team’s capabilities and will be instrumental in fulfilling Samantha’s and the team’s goals,” he said. “Having said that, we do have a lot of work ahead of us but I feel we will have improved as a team for 2019.
“I can’t wait for the new season to start.”
