Porsche North America Selected Driver Kay van Berlo is set to undertake a full season of Pirelli GT4 America as part of ACI Motorsports’ three-car lineup in the series.

The 22-year-old Dutchman, who finished runner-up in Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America last year, will join ACI team owner/driver Curt Swearingin at the wheel of a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

It will mark van Berlo’s second full season program in North America, alongside his GTD class effort with Kellymoss in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“[I’m] super excited to join the team in 2023,” he said. “It will be my first time driving in GT4 America. [It’s] good to get exposure to the new championship and I’m obviously very happy to do this in a Porsche, since I’m part of the selected driver program.

“It’s a great expansion of what I’m doing in IMSA, now having, another program on the side.

“I’ve known Curt and Richard [Edge] and Andrew Davis, most of the guys on the team already for a couple of years and shared a track with them in Carrera Cup North America. So it’s cool that we’re now sharing a car.

“Curt has shown some great pace over the last couple of years so I’m confident that we can do a really good job in Pro-Am and have a good season together.”

The duo will contest the Pro-Am class of the SRO America championship, which kicks off at Sonoma Raceway later this month.

“It’s really cool to be able to announce Kay as a member of the ACI team for this season,” said Swearingin. “It’s an extreme privilege to have a driver like Kay joining us and entrusting us to give him the support he needs.”

“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve been mentally preparing for this season and I feel like I’m in a good spot.

“Morale is high and ACI is doing all we can to be as competitive as possible in this championship, and while we’re not getting ahead of ourselves, we feel good about our chances this year.”

Veteran Porsche racer Andrew Davis, meanwhile, will anchor the team’s Silver class entry with Francis Selldorff.

“This program brings together some familiar aspects as well as some new opportunities,” said Davis.

“I’m really looking forward to teaming up with Francis Selldorff. He is a rising star in the sport, and it’s going to be a privilege to share this adventure with him.

“Additionally, this program gives me the opportunity to once again represent the Porsche brand in one of the most competitive fields in motorsport.”

A third Porsche will be on the grid for Richard Edge and Matt Halcome, which will compete in the Am class.

ACI’s GT4 America program comes in addition to its already confirmed entry into Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS for Spencer Pumpelly and Pedro Torres.

The Tennessee-based team is expanding into SRO America competition following its success in Carrera Cup North America and Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama.
