Erin Vogel will make her Pirelli GT4 America debut at Sonoma Raceway next month, driving an Audi R8 LMS GT4 entered by Flying Lizard Motorsports.

Vogel was part of an all-female lineup that claimed a class victory in December’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill, and she will use the same Audi for the June 8-9 event.

She will compete in the pair of 50-minute, single-driver Sprint races at the northern California track.

“I’m very excited and honored to represent the Flying Lizard brand at this level, and to have their confidence and skill backing me is a great feeling,” said Vogel.

“The Porsche Trophy West has been great preparation, and I’m feeling very consistent going into my GT4 America debut in June.

“There is still some work to do, but what I’ve done so far is paying dividends and I hope to continue with that trend going into Sonoma’s races and beyond. It’s fantastic to be back in the Audi.”

Vogel, who receives coaching from McLaren factory driver Michael Cooper, recently completed a test in the Audi at Sonoma.

“We are really looking forward to Erin’s debut in the GT4 America series,” said Flying Lizard program manager Darren Law.

“Since our Thunderhill win, she has been on an aggressive program to gain knowledge and experience behind the wheel.

“She is not only working on increasing her speed and understanding of the car, but she is also improving her race craft with every lap.

“She has done a great job this year and with Sonoma being our home track, it is a great opportunity for her to continue to advance her racing program.”

Flying Lizard doesn’t have any GT4 entries in this weekend’s SRO America event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, on account of Michael Dinan’s injury which has ruled him and co-driver Robbie Foley out of the CTMP and Sonoma events.
