A total of 17 cars are entered for the Blancpain GT World Challenge America round at Virginia International Raceway, as part of a packed weekend of racing for SRO Motorsports America.

The entry marks a reduction from the 23 GT3 cars that took part in last month’s season-opener at Circuit of The Americas.

Among the teams absent include GMG Racing and US RaceTronics, which are partial-season entries, as well as TR3 Racing, which fielded a Ferrari 488 GT3 in COTA in a one-off deal for Jeff Segal and Wei Lu.

As revealed by Sportscar365 last week, P1 Motorsports has withdrawn from GT3 racing, while it’s understood the Vitalspeed, Risi Competizione and Autometrics entries were for COTA-only.

VIR, however, will see the return of longtime World Challenge entrant RealTime Racing, which will field a brand-new Acura NSX GT3 Evo for Dane Cameron and Bret Curtis, competing in the Pro-Am class.

Another change in Pro-Am comes with the No. 91 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R entry, which sees Porsche Young Professional Matt Campbell make his series debut, alongside full-season driver Anthony Imperato.

The six-car Pro class is unchanged from COTA, with K-PAX Racing’s Rodrigo Baptista and Maxime Soulet tied for the points lead with defending SprintX champions Toni Vilander and Miguel Molima, of R. Ferri Motorsport.

K-PAX’s sister Bentley Continental GT3 of Alvaro Parente and Andy Soucek sit only 1 point behind in third.

Track action kicks off on Friday, with the pair of 90-minute races set for Saturday and Sunday.
