40 Entries for GT Rivals at Barcelona

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host Round 6 of the GT Rivals Esports Invitational on Assetto Corsa Competizione. After five rounds, Bryan Heitkotter took his fourth overall win at Suzuka Circuit after a dogfight with Ferrari’s David Perel.

Thirty-five real-world racers and five sim racers from Champion Motorsports will visit virtual Spain to compete on the 2.892-mile, 16-turn circuit that typically hosts the season finale for our friends at GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.

GT Rivals airs Sunday at 3 p.m. ET across SRO’s GT World YouTube channel, SRO Motorsports Twitch channel and GT World Challenge America powered by AWS Facebook page.

Perel and Heitkotter return to GT Rivals this weekend for round two of their duel that left fans wanting more.

At Suzuka, Heitkotter’s Nissan GT-R GT3 NISMO led mid-race and was being chased down by GTWC Europe driver David Perel.

Lap after lap, Perel’s Ferrari would reel in the Nissan until he was within striking distance. Unfortunately, contact would leave us wanting more as Perel earned a free trip to pit lane for avoidable contact in the late stages of the contest.

The two pro racers and sim stars will be ones to watch.

The much anticipated return of Round 2 race winner Josh Staffin will definitely shake things up.

The sim racer from Champion Motorsports will challenge for the win driving an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo. Staffin has shown his expertise in Assetto Corsa Competizione and will bring excitement to the grid for Barcelona.

He will be joined by Champion Motorsports sim racers, Suzuka pole sitter Branden Ouellet with CMS leader David Anderson in a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo. Drake Burgoon is back racing a Porsche 991.2 GT3 R and Keith Briscoe returns in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo.

A late addition to last weekend’s race, GT Academy USA winner Nick McMillan will look to bring the fight to his fellow NISMO driver Heitkotter. After a strong qualifying effort, McMillan was forced to start from the pit lane in his first race in ACC.

2018 Pirelli World Challenge GT Sprint Champion Scott Hargrove will make his debut in GT Rivals. Hargrove spent last season driving for Wright Motorsports in GT World Challenge America and enters the esports competition driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R.

GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS driver Will Bamber will make his second start in GT Rivals. The New Zealand native suffered technical difficulties at Suzuka but brings back his Earl Bamber Motorsport Porsche.

Barcelona will feature many of GT Rivals’ regulars including Kenton Koch, who drove to a second place finish in Suzuka. The Murillo Racing duo of Kenny Murillo and Christian Szymczak have shown speed and look for stronger results heading into Round 6.

Nelson Mason, who drove his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo to a fourth place finish last race, also shouldn’t be counted out.

Honda GT3 Academy driver Karl Wittmer is always a contender driving his Acura NSX GT3 Evo. Logan Seavey returns in the Mercedes-AMG GT3, the USAC star finished 10th last weekend at Suzuka.
