Alegra Motorsports will expand into a two-car operation in Blancpain GT World Challenge America, having confirmed a pair of Porsche 911 GT3 Rs for the new-look championship.

Ex-Porsche factory drivers Wolf Henzler and Marco Holzer will team up in Alegra’s GT3 Pro class entry, with team principal Carlos de Quesada and Daniel Morad set to share driving duties of its Pro-Am entry.

It will mark Morad’s return to the Florida-based team since 2017 when he was part of its full-season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship effort, which was highlighted by class victory in the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

More recently, the Canadian was part of CRP Racing’s lineup in Blancpain GT America.

Both Holzer and Henzler, who took part in the SprintX races last year with Pfaff Motorsports, are new to Alegra.

“The Porsche experience that these two guys bring to the track is great,” said team manager Tony Ditto.

“They know the machines and understand how to extract maximum performance from them, so that’s something we’ll definitely be tapping into this year.

“The team did well in the 2018 SprintX GT Championship Series last year, so we’re looking to carry that momentum forward.”

Confirmation of Alegra’s two entries brings the total GT3 car count up to the high-teens, including an expected five 2019-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Rs.
