Matthew Brabham will make his GT3 debut with CRP Racing in the Pirelli World Challenge SprintX rounds at Portland International Raceway this weekend.

The Australian-American will race alongside full-season driver Daniel Morad in CRP’s Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Fabien Schiller drove at the first two SprintX races before being replaced by Mercedes-AMG factory driver Raffaele Marciello at Lime Rock Park in May.

Brabham, who is backed by CRP sponsor DeVilbiss, has experience in several open-wheel categories including the Verizon IndyCar Series.

He won the U.S. F2000 National Championship in 2012 and Pro Mazda Championship a year later.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m extremely excited to be driving in the DeVilbiss Mercedes AMG GT3,” he said.

“I’m very grateful to [team owner] Nick Short, DeVilbiss, and Daniel Morad for giving me a shot and inviting me into their team.

“There is a lot to learn in a short amount of time and I will be leaning on and learning from the team as much as I can.

“It’s quite cool to be racing at Portland, both my father and uncle have won races in sports cars there. I will be listening to what they have to say and hopefully taking some of that luck with me.”
