Colin Braun and Ryan Dalziel will score points towards Mercedes-AMG’s global Blancpain GT World Challenge campaign, having replaced Maxi Buhk and JC Perez in the manufacturer’s driver roster.

The switch is effective as of this weekend’s Blancpain GT World Challenge America rounds at Virginia International Raceway.

It comes after P1 Motorsports withdrew its GT3 programs in Blancpain GT America and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship due to Perez’ back injury.

Buhk and Perez shared the P1 Mercedes at Circuit of The Americas but won’t complete the season, and so have been replaced in Mercedes-AMG’s four-driver nominated roster.

Braun and Dalziel, who are in separate DXDT Racing Mercedes, will instead score points towards the global World Challenge title, along with David Askew and George Kurtz.

Ferrari has also made a change to its driver nominations, with Matt Plumb taking over from Jeff Segal.

The SRO Motorsports Group’s new global World Challenge title includes results from its American, European and Asian GT3 sprint series.

Each manufacturer signed up to the title (Mercedes-AMG and Ferrari) nominate four drivers in each of the three series to score points.

Mercedes-AMG currently leads on 1392 points after the first rounds in both the American and Asian series, while Ferrari has 1388.

Blancpain GT America is back in action with a pair of 90-minute races at VIR this weekend.
