K-PAX Racing ended the opening day of official track action for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS on top with its pair of Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evos leading the way.

Andrea Caldarelli topped both 60-minute practice sessions on Friday, with the Lamborghini factory driver’s 1:36.798 lap time in the morning session ending up as the quickest of the day.

Calderelli recorded a 1:37.700 to go fastest in Practice 2 as well, 0.038 seconds ahead of teammate Giovanni Venturini in the No. 6 K-PAX Lamborghini in second.

Colin Braun recorded the third quickest time of the session prior to bringing out a red flag in his No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

The car did not return after losing a wheel and hitting the tire barrier, which resulted in a ten-minute stoppage.

The No. 9 TR3 Racing Lamborghini was fourth quickest overall and second in Pro-Am, while Ryan Dalziel completed the top-five in the No. 63 DXDT Mercedes.

Jan Heylen was sixth in the No. 20 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, ahead of the No. 33 Winward Racing Mercedes, which took to the track after battling a shifting compressor issue in the first session.

A total of 13 cars set times in the session with the No. 61 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 remaining in the garage after Jean-Claude Saada’s heavy accident in opening practice.

The team is hopeful of repairing the car for the remainder of the weekend.

Qualifying is set to get underway Saturday at 9:25 a.m. PT followed by Race 1 at 2:15 p.m. (5:15 p.m. ET) with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
