Kyle Marcelli laid down the quickest time of this afternoon’s Blancpain GT World Challenge America practice session, while it was Toni Vilander’s time from the morning that stood as quickest of the day at Road America.
Marcelli’s 2:06.716 lap time in the Pro-Am class championship-leading Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo was just 0.045 seconds faster than the GT3 Pro pace-setting No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 of Vilander and Daniel Serra, which ended up second in the session but quickest on Friday, thanks to a 2:06.120 by the Finn.
The No. 5 Gradient Racing Acura of Trent Hindman was third on the overall time charts, ahead of the No. 42 RealTime Racing Acura, also a Pro-Am entry, in fourth.
Wright Motorsports’ Porsche 911 GT3 R of Matt Campbell completed the top-five overall, ahead of the Colin Braun-driven No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in sixth.
The No. 3 K-PAX Racing Bentley Continental GT3 of Rodrigo Baptista and Maxime Soulet was seventh quickest overall and second in the Pro class, although showing improved pace from the morning.
Adjustments were made in SRO Motorsports America’s regulations regarding tire pressures and camber between sessions.
The 60-minute session ran without incident.
Qualifying is set to get underway at 8:55 a.m. CT.
