Scott Maxwell was fastest in scorching conditions in the second Pirelli World Challenge GTS practice session at Utah Motorsports Campus.

The Canadian, who pairs with Jade Buford in the No. 55 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4, was quickest by nearly a half second over Shane Lewis in the No. 74 Robinson Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R.

Only Maxwell dipped below the two-minute threshold with his lap of 1:59.895 but was still nearly a second off of ST Racing driver Nick Wittmer’s time from Practice 1, which remains the quickest of the day.

The No. 113 BMW M4 GT4 of Daren Jorgensen and Brett Strom out of the Classic BMW stable were third overall and tops in the Am class, with James Pesek fourth in the sister car to the session leaders.

Seven different manufacturers were represented in the top ten overall.

Temperatures soared into the mid-nineties but the practice ran without major incident. The GTS cars return to the track for qualifying at 9:10 a.m. local time on Saturday.
