The No. 63 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Ryan Dalziel and David Askew has been ruled out of this afternoon’s Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS race at Virginia International Raceway following an accident in qualifying.

Askew lost control of the Pro-Am class contender and made contact with the barriers to bring out the first of two red flags in Q1.

While not taking part in Q2, the North Carolina-based team later determined it will not be repairable in time for the first 90-minute race of the weekend.

A team spokesperson told Sportscar365 they are working to get the car on the grid for Race 2 on Sunday, with crew members headed to its shop — a two-and-a-half-hour drive away — for spare parts.

It will result in a 15-car starting grid for the fifth round of the season, which takes the green flag at 1:15 p.m. ET.
