Parente Leads K-PAX 1-2 in Utah Qualifying

Alvaro Parente edged his K-PAX Racing teammate Rodrigo Baptista to take pole position for Pirelli World Challenge GT Race 1 at Utah Motorsports Campus.

The Portuguese ace turned in the best lap of the weekend so far in the No. 9 Bentley Continental GT3 with a time of 1:48.271, 0.227 seconds faster than his Brazilian counterpart.

Championship leader Toni Vilander was third fastest in the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 that he shares with Miguel Molina, while Scott Heckert and Michael Christensen completed the top five for Lone Star Racing and Alegra Motorsports, respectively.

Wei Lu scored the Pro-Am class pole in the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari, while Caeser Bacarella was quickest in the Am category for Squadra Corse Garage Italia.

Race 1 is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. local time with live streaming coverage available online at World-Challenge.com
