Parente Tops Practice 2 at Road America

Alvaro Parente, K-PAX Racing dominate second PWC practice at Road America…

Alvaro Parente was quickest in the second of three Pirelli World Challenge practice sessions of the day at Road America, in preparation for this weekend’s Sprint rounds.

The K-PAX Racing driver ran a best lap of 2:05.551 in the 30-minute session, outpacing the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Daniel Mancinelli by a hefty 1.3 seconds.

Toni Vilander was third quickest in the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari, followed by Pfaff Motorsports’ Scott Hargrove, who was quickest of the Porsche contingent.

Rodrigo Baptista completed the top-five in the No. 3 K-PAX Bentley Continental GT3.

The No. 07 Squadra Corse Garage Italia of Martin Fuentes again topped GTA.

Buford Paces GTS Class

PF Racing’s Jade Buford led the way in GTS, with Buford having reeled off a 2:19.729 in the No. 55 Ford Mustang GT4.

Friday morning’s pace-setting No. 1 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R of Lawson Aschenbach was second quickest, followed by Drew Staveley, who topped GTSA.

Staveley’s 2:19.866 lap in the No. 12 Ian Lacy Racing Ginetta G55 GT4 was good enough for third quickest among the GTS competitors.

The third and final practice session of the day is set for 6:05 p.m. CDT.
