Schiro Leads SprintX Friday Practice at Utah

Niccolo Schiro led the way in Friday’s Pirelli World Challenge SprintX track action at Utah Motorsports Campus, as teams prepare for this weekend’s pair of races.

Schiro in the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 laid down a 1:48.696 in the afternoon’s 60-minute practice session, improving on the car’s pace-setting lap from the morning by more than one second.

The Italian edged out the No. 3 Cadillac ATS-V.R of Ricky Taylor by 0.2017 seconds, who like Vincent Abril in the third-placed No. 88 Absolute Bentley Continental GT3, made a late-session improvement.

Peter Kox put the No. 93 RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3 fourth quickest in the session, with the No. 2 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Ryan Dalziel completing the top-five overall and in the GT Pro-Pro class.

GT Pro-Am was led by the No. 75 Always Evolving/AIM Autosport Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, having posted the 10th quickest time overall, with the No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 quickest in GT Am-Am.

The No. 55 Dream Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, meanwhile, was quickest in GT Cup.

Qualifying for SprintX competitors gets underway Saturday at 10:45 a.m. MT.
