Martin Fuentes and Rodrigo Baptista have claimed a weekend sweep in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS action at Circuit of The Americas with another commanding overall victory in Race 2.

Fuentes drove the No. 1 Squadra Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 to a 7.903-second win over the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo of Shelby Blackstock, who made an impressive charge from fifth to second overall at the end of the 90-minute race.

While Jan Heylen led from the green in the No. 20 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, co-driver Fred Poordad lost the lead to Fuentes with 28 minutes to go.

Poordad ultimately dropped to third in the end, finishing second in the GT3 Pro-Am class.

Fuentes and Baptista have extended their points lead heading into next month’s season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour, where they will only need to be classified in the race to be crowned champions.

The No. 33 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Alec Udell and Russell Ward finished fourth overall and second in GT3 Silver, thanks to a late charge by Udell, who passed the No. 63 DXDT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of David Askew in the final five minutes.

Askew and co-driver Ryan Daziel completed the top-five.
