Staveley Tops GTS Practice 1 at Utah

Drew Stavely led the way in opening GTS practice for this weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge round at Utah Motorsports Campus.

Staveley took his No. 12 Ian Lacy Racing Ginetta G55 GT4 to the top of the time charts, reeling off a 1:59.403 in the 50-minute session.

The GTSA competitor edged out the No. 99 JCR Motorsports Maserati GT4 of Jeff Courtney by 0.213 seconds, with the two drivers swapping the top spot throughout the session.

Rodrigo Baptista was third quickest in the No. 3 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, ahead of Martin Barkey’s No. 80 Mantella Autosport KTM X-Bow GT4.

The No. 14 Flying Lizard Porsche of Nate Stacy completed the top-five.

A total of 14 cars set times in the session, with points leader Lawson Aschenbach only able to muster the 12th quickest time in the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop Camaro GT4.R.

Practice 2 is scheduled for 1:50 p.m. MT.
