TruSpeed Autosport’s Ryan Dalziel and Parker Chase have inherited the overall victory in Sunday’s Pirelli World Challenge GT SprintX race at Portland International Raceway following several post-race penalties issued issued by the series.

The second SprintX race of the weekend had initially seen the No. 96 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Wolf Henzler and Scott Hargrove take victory, although their car and the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 have been given three-second post-race time penalties.

Both cars were deemed to have cut the chicane following the final restart, which put Henzler out front after running fourth as the race went green again.

Toni Vilander, meanwhile, was assessed a drive-through penalty during the race for an unrelated pit lane infraction, which dropped the Finn to seventh at the line.

While the post-race penalty did not affect the finishing position for the Race 1-winning Ferrari, the Pfaff Porsche was relegated to third overall, giving K-PAX Racing’s Rodrigo Baptista and Maxime Soulet GT Pro-Pro class honors in their second-place overall finishing No. 3 Bentley Continental GT3.

Pfaff, meanwhile, has confirmed that it has launched an official appeal with sanctioning body USAC on the ruling.

The amended provisional result sees 17-year-old Chase claim his first overall PWC victory following his breakthrough GTA class win earlier this year at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

It is also TruSpeed and Dalziel’s first outright win of the season and first for Audi this year in the sprint race championship.

RESULTS: Race 2 (Revised)
