Land Leads Audi 1-2-3 With Two Hours to Go

Audi continues to dominate the California 8 Hours at MRLS…

Christopher Mies holds a 2.967-second lead over Kelvin van der Linde with two hours remaining in the California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Mies and his Audi Sport Team Land have dominated the race so far from pole position in the No. 29 Audi R8 LMS, with van der Linde in the No. 44 Audi Sport Team Magnus machine and Robin Frijns in the No. 11 Team WRT Audi holding second and third, respectively.

Ben Barnicoat in the No. 9 K-PAX Racing McLaren 650S GT3 and Joerg Bergmeister in the No. 58 Porsche Motorsports North America by Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R complete the top-five.

Jereon Bleekemolen holds the lead in the GT3 Pro-Am category in his Black Swan Racing Porsche and runs eighth overall.

The other class leaders are Morgan Haber in the No. 193 MARC Cars Australia Marc Mazda 3 V8 in Invitational and the No. 3 TRG Aston Martin GT4 of Kris Wilson in the GT4 category.

Ryan Myrehn is an Indianapolis-based broadcaster and reporter. In addition to his work covering primarily domestic sports car racing for Sportscar365, he is the lead announcer for SRO America's TV coverage as well as a pit reporter for IndyCar Radio. Myrehn, a graduate of DePauw University, is also the host of Sportscar365's “Double Stint” Podcast.
