The No. 43 RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3 will run a throwback livery in this weekend’s California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, adorned in the same colors the team campaigned more than 15 years ago.

Ryan Eversley, Tom Dyer and new Acura signing Dane Cameron will pilot the GT3 contender in the Intercontinental GT Challenge round.

It will carry a near-identical orange and white livery that team owner Peter Cunningham had on his previous-generation Acura NSX, which finished runner-up in the 2001 and 2002 Pirelli World Challenge GT championship.

The Wisconsin-based squad will field a pair of Acuras in the inaugural U.S. round of the IGTC, which could be the team’s final appearance in GT3 as it is likely to transition to PWC’s new TCR class next year with Honda Civic Type Rs.

TOO COOL! I think it looks nicer than the current paint scheme…

Even in pwc the nsx deal was only for a year it seems. They could have kept it going in pwc unlike imsa.

They need to find some pay drivers… or even better, some sponsers. This scheme would look great with Marlboro on the side, if it was legal.

One heck of a step down to go from GT3 to TCR. Hope they can at least get one car on the grid somehow. Now I really hate I’m going to miss this race.

Yeah, I hadn’t heard of this move before. I guess most of the HPD money will be going to Penske next year.

Ya know, the TCR field better watch out. Real Time is a crack touring car team. If Daytona Prototypes made Mike Shank, touring cars made Peter Cunningham and RTR.

I could never tell if the announcers were saying Peter or Peettie Cunningham. I guess it was Peter. I was never much a fan of that color of red(?) and white. Perhaps if it was a brighter shade of Red, anyhow, I like the PWC livery on the NSX and some of the Shank skins for the IMSA versions. I guess I’d have to see how those air intakes on the front were highlighted. I enjoy the bright outlines they have on the current PWC.

Ah, thanks Jerry. That explains my lack of definition. Combine old old ears with initials… and you get my decade long confusion!
