Lamborghini will enter this year’s FIA GT World Cup, adding to an possible increased number of GT3 manufacturers for the Nov. 19-20 event at the Guia Circuit in Macau.

Head of Lamborghini Motorsport Giorgio Sanna confirmed to Sportscar365 that the Italian manufacturer will be represented by two Huracan GT3s entered by FFF Racing Team by ACM, its Asian partner team.

Sanna said drivers for the program will be announced by the team in September.

The addition of Lamborghini could come as a boost to the race, which featured five manufacturers in the inaugural event last year.

Reigning FIA GT World Cup champions Mercedes-Benz is expected to commit with the new Mercedes-AMG GT3, while Head of Audi Sport customer racing Chris Reinke told Sportscar365 that he’d be surprised if they did not return.

BMW, meanwhile, will not enter Macau as a manufacturer, per Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.

“It’s a one-off at the end of the day and to be honest with you, for us GT3 is a customer racing platform,” Marquardt told Sportscar365.

Bentley Motorsport director Brian Gush said a final decision has yet to be made. Bentley, along with BMW, were not registered manufacturers in last year’s event.

No word has been given if Aston Martin, McLaren and Porsche, which were all represented as manufacturers last year, have confirmed its return.

The deadline for manufacturer and non-manufacturer entries was Sunday, per the 2016 event regulations, with the official list of selected manufacturers set to be released on Aug. 31.

Team declarations, meanwhile, must be confirmed by Sept. 16.

Last year’s event, won by AMG’s Maro Engel, saw a 22-car starting grid, featuring a mix of manufacturer-backed and privateer entries.
