Louis Deletraz has given Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti pole position for Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, edging out Renger van der Zande for the top spot for the third leg of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.

Deletraz took his No. 40 Acura ARX-06 to a fast lap of 1:32.209 to end up just 0.038 seconds quicker than van der Zande’s N0. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Series.R in qualifying Saturday at Watkins Glen International.

It marked Deletraz’s second career GTP class pole.

Jack Aitken qualified third in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac, followed by JDC-Miller Motorsports’ Phil Hanson, who out-qualified both of the factory Penske Porsche 963s in fourth.

Mathieu Jaminet was fifth in the No. 6 Porsche, followed by teammate Felipe Nasr in sixth.

The No. 10 WTRAndretti Acura of Ricky Taylor was seventh, ahead of the No. 24 Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 of Philipp Eng and Andrea Caldarelli’s No. 63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini SC63.

Gianmaria Bruni completed the top-ten in the No. 5 Proton Competition Porsche.

Only one BMW qualified, with the No. 25 car damaged in final practice following a crash by Connor De Phillippi, which has required the team to truck in a spare chassis from Indianapolis.

LMP2 pole class honors went to PJ Hyett in the No. 99 AO Racing Oreca 07 Gibson, who reeled off a number of flying laps to end up with a chart-topping 1:35.925 time.

Hyett, who had three laps good enough for pole, wound up 0.682 seconds quicker than the No. 22 United Autosports entry of Daniel Goldburg in second, with Stephen Thomas third quickest in the No. 11 TDS Racing Oreca.

Thomas slowed in the closing moments of the 15-minute LMP2 session but managed to return to the pits.

Risi Competizione, Vasser Sullivan Take GT Poles

Daniel Serra claimed top pole honors in GTD Pro, taking his No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 to a best lap of 1:44.203.

It was 0.114 seconds quicker than Alexander Sims in the No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, who qualified second prior to sustaining a left-rear puncture.

Ross Gunn was third quickest in class in the No. 23 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, ahead of defending class champion Jack Hawksworth in the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3.

The No. 4 Corvette of Nicky Catsburg completed the top-five.

Parker Thompson, meanwhile, picked up his third GTD class pole of the season in the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus, which was good enough for sixth amongst the GT cars.

The No. 023 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari of Onofrio Triarsi was second in class, with Mikael Grenier third in the No. 32 Preston Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen gets underway Sunday at 11:10 a.m. EDT with live coverage on USA Network and Peacock, as well as IMSA Radio.
