On Friday, IMSA released two new bulletins, the former of which provides several updates to the rulebook regarding on-track protocol.
Article 48.1, under the “Passing” banner, reveals this addition to the rulebook: “Where two Cars are reasonably alongside each other, each must permit the other Racing room.”
Revised language appears in the following subsection, Article 48.2 related to Blocking. Essentially, the change says that any driver moving in reaction to another driver may be warned or penalized.
Article 48.3’s title has been changed from “Avoidable Contact” to “Incidents,” and also has language changed.
