Atapattu, Madsen Join ANSA for Super Trofeo Effort

Longtime Lamborghini single-make series racer Ron Atapattu and Kevin Madsen have joined forces to drive one of ANSA Motorsports’ Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2s for the upcoming Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season.

Atapattu and Madsen will compete for Am class honors in the No. 24 Lamborghini, which will carry a red, white and blue stars-and-stripes livery for the season.

Atapattu finished third in the Pro-Am championship in 2019, capturing six podium finishes and nine Top-five finishes in 12 races.

He started racing with Lamborghinis in 1996-99 in the original Lamborghini SuperSport Series run by the SRO Motorsports Group, competing in a Lamborghini Diablo SVR.

This year Atapattu has similarly duplicated his former stars-and-stripes livery from the ’90s.

“We are very excited to have Lamborghini Broward join us for the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race series,” said car owner/driver Atapattu.

“I’ve been with Lamborghini for many years and having the support of my local Lamborghini dealership is an honor for me and to bring their customers closer to the Lamborghini racing family.”

Madsen added: “I couldn’t be more excited to join the No. 24 elephantea Lamborghini Super Trofeo EVO2 with Ron. We’ve raced together in all sorts of cars over the years and he’s just a blast to work with.

“I also can’t think of a more fitting race car livery for two patriots.

“It’s been a quick timeline with this all coming together but very thankful to all involved including ANSA and Lamborghini Broward for the strong support.”

ANSA’s second entry for this weekend’s season opener at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca features Sebastian Saavedra and Nico Jamin paired up in a Pro class Lamborghini.
