The Belgian team will enter a BMW Z4 GTE in this year’s championship, the first time the Z4 GTE has raced outside the US.
Hassid raced for BMW Team Marc VDS in the 2014 season finale, while Krohn won the BMW Motorsport Junior of the Year title in 2014.
As a result of his title, and after a test in Miramas, BMW Motorsport today announced the Finn will have a full season program in the BMW Z4 GTE and Z4 GT3 this season.
“We are pleased that the first year of our new junior programme has unearthed such a talented driver as Jesse Krohn,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.
“I’m very pleased to see this line up come together. We all know Andy’s qualities – how many teams have a triple world champion in their midst? – and we have what I believe to be a very strong team here,” added BMW Team Marc VDS team principal Bas Leinders.
Krohn’s team for the VLN series is yet to be announced, but the Finn is extremely happy to race in the ELMS and VLN.
“I am living my motorsport dream at the moment. To be able to drive the BMW Z4 in two such awesome series as the ELMS and VLN in my second year as a BMW Motorsport Junior is fantastic,” said Krohn.
“I am sure I will benefit from the wealth of experience possessed by Marc VDS and drivers like Andy Priaulx. I am looking forward to another year of learning, and will do everything in my power to meet my own expectations.”
