Alongside its commitments in a number of series, SMP Racing will run a Ferrari F458 Italia GTE car in the European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans. (En Français)
The Russian-backed squad recently completed a shakedown of the new car in Fiorano, which also saw them confirm the driver lineup for the five-round ELMS championship.
Ferrari factory driver Andrea Bertolini will be joined by Sergey Zlobin and Viktor Shaitar, the latter two drivers who will also be part of the team’s FIA WEC LMP2 program.
As a result, only Bertolini is the only confirmed driver for Le Mans, which has been entered in the GTE-Am class. Given the pool of drivers within the SMP camp, finding two other co-drivers should not be too complicated.
SMP will also return to the GTC class with three Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 cars, after having won the class title last year. Fabio Babini and Boris Rotenberg are the only confirmed drivers thus far.
