Creventic has announced that the 20th edition of the 24H Dubai is set to be held on Jan. 10-12, thus aiming to return to its traditional slot on the calendar after the event was postponed earlier this year.
The 24H Series flagship event has been held at the Dubai Autodrome every year since 2006 and was won by the Eastalent Racing Team Audi squad earlier this year.
This year’s edition was notably postponed as a result of logistical issues caused by security concerns around the Red Sea, which forced the series into a date clash with the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
That led to some eight GT3 entries being withdrawn, including defending race winners Team WRT, although the event still attracted a 24-car GT3 grid with most major manufacturers represented.
Creventic has also revealed the provisional timetable for the event, with practice and qualifying sessions all taking place on Friday.
A single, 90-minute Free Practice session is followed by a qualifying format comprising of six, 15-minute sessions before running is capped off with a 90-minute night practice offering.
The race then kicks off on Saturday at 1 p.m. local time (5 a.m. EDT), running interrupted until Sunday afternoon.
Notably, the pre-event parade through Dubai Motor City also returns for the third time and will be held on the Wednesday before the event.
