Bentley is planning a two-car factory attack for February’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, it has been revealed.
The British manufacturer will field a pair of Bentley Continental GT3s in the Australian enduro, with lead drivers Guy Smith, Steven Kane and Andy Meyrick set to be among the lineup.for the Feb. 6-8 event.
“We know that we are in the underdog position because we have a new car and no track data from the race, but we will do our best to give a good impression,” Bentley Chairman Wolfgang Durheimer told Carsguide.com.au.
“We are extremely pleased to bring the Bentley brand to a very knowledgeable audience and an outstanding historic racetrack in Australia. I have only heard and read about about Bathurst, but I believe it is the Australian Nurburgring.”
The addition of the two-car factory effort will join a single privateer Continental GT3 from Flying B Racing, which was announced last week.
In addition to its Bathurst 12 Hour program, Bentley is also expected to enter January’s Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai, as part of an expanded endurance effort that will also include its debut in the Nurburgring 24.
