As the 2015 race season comes to a close this weekend for Pirelli World Challenge, EFFORT Racing and Porsche Motorsport North America have announced a continued partnership for the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge season with the new-generation Porsche 911 GT3 R.

The yet-to-be-announced lineup will again feature a two-car program competing for the series title against the world’s top drivers and manufacturers.

The 2016 program will also continue the North American Young Driver Development program with Porsche Motorsport North America.

This year’s Development Program participant, young American driver Michael Lewis, started the season in the amateur class and was quickly promoted to a GT driver after several early season successes.

As the program continues in 2016, so does EFFORT Racing’s and Porsche Motorsport commitment to excellence and desire to seek out and refine the skills of tomorrow’s top GT drivers in North America.

“We are excited at EFFORT to further develop our relationship with Porsche Motorsport for the 2016 season and are ecstatic about competing with the new 991 GT3 R,” said Emile Toups, Principal EFFORT Racing.

“As always, the objective is to win the GT Championship with Porsche and to continue to improve the sportscar experience for our sponsors, partners, and fans.”

“For the past three years, Porsche Motorsport North America has held our Young Drivers Academy program, seeking out promising driving talent in North America,” said Jens Walther, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America.

“Each attending driver receives an evaluation, educating, and given recommendations designed to guide them in their up-and-coming motorsports career. Michael Lewis is a perfect example, a 2014 participant now flourishing with EFFORT Racing since the very beginning of 2015.

“We are excited to continue to be part of EFFORT Racing’s 2016 Pirelli World Challenge plans, as we continue to grow our customer based motorsports activities in North America.”
