Audi Sport has confirmed four new Audi R8 LMS GT3s will compete in the 24-hour races at Spa and the Nürburgring.
Phoenix Racing and Belgian Audi Club Team WRT will each field two cars in the GT3 enduros.
After making an appearance at both the Blancpain and VLN test days last week, the new Audi R8 LMS will continue its preparatory program by competing in the two VLN races leading up to the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Audi Sport also confirmed the car will start in a couple of Blancpain Endurance Series races, likely to be the Monza and Paul Ricard rounds, as Silverstone follows only a couple of days after the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
“We’re aiming to have developed a fully matured car by the time of the Nürburgring 24 Hours on May 16 and 17 that fits the requirements of the Nordschleife well and will be competitive as soon as possible,” said Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
“In the intervening period there’s still an endurance test on our agenda as well.”
