Scuderia Corsa will join the list of teams in GT Daytona starting the year with an old car, although not by intent.
According to Scuderia Corsa technical director Roberto Amorosi, the team’s Ferrari 488 GT3 isn’t here this week for the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test and the eventual Rolex 24 at Daytona, because of a claim the car is not homologated.
“The car was not homologated. If it is not homologated, it can’t run,” Amorosi told Sportscar365.
The team is planning to have its new car set for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Scuderia Corsa has reverted to its Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, which along with the single Spirit of Race entry makes Ferrari absent of either of its GT3-spec new cars for the race.
Alessandro Balzan, Christina Nielsen, Jeff Segal and Robert Renauer will share the team’s No. 63 car for the Rolex 24. The race will mark Nielsen’s team debut, after joining from TRG-AMR.
