RJN Motorsport has confirmed plans to run a new 2018-spec Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup this season.
The British squad, under the GT Sport Motul Team RJN banner, will run a one 2018-spec car in the Pro category and an older model in Pro-Am, having been granted one position on the pre-selected Pro class Endurance Cup entry list last month.
Alex Buncombe, Lucas Ordoñez and Matt Parry will co-drive the Pro Cup car, with all three drivers returning from RJN’s two-car Pro Cup entry last season.
Struan Moore, Ricardo Sanchez and Jordan Witt will share the 2017-spec Pro-Am car, meanwhile.
The program will be backed by longtime Nissan partner Sony, with the brand’s GT Sport videogame as the team’s title sponsor.
Both of the cars’ liveries were designed in PlayStation using the GT Sport livery editor.
“We’re looking forward to hitting the track this year in Blancpain and showcasing the new GT-R in conjunction with Sony and Motul,” RJN boss Bob Neville said.
“We’ve had many great drivers come through our programs over the years from GT Academy and it’s great to now be able to welcome Sony and GT Sport for 2018.
“Lucas and Ricardo wouldn’t be where they are today if it wasn’t for GT Academy and we’re looking forward to showing the fans what they can do on track – both virtually on the PlayStation and in real life in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.”
