The Nürburgring 24 has been red-flagged in the eighth hour due to fog, which has descended heavily upon the Grand Prix portion of the circuit.

Race officials elected to stop all racing action due to the track conditions, which had been worsening over the last hour amid the return of rain in changing conditions.

The No. 16 Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II of Christopher Mies holds control of the race, following a close battle with the pole-sitting No. 72 Team RMG BMW M4 GT3 of Dan Harper.

Mies passed Harper for the lead early in the eighth hour, following a back-and-forth battle for the position that also included the No. 4 Team HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Arjun Maini.

The highlight of the seventh hour came with an accident by the No. 8 Team GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG of Adam Christodoulou, resulting in heavy damage for the car which managed to get back to the pit lane.

Race control has stated that the next update will come at 7 a.m. local time (1 a.m. EDT), meaning cars will be stopped for at least the next seven-plus hours.
