Virginia International Raceway is a place every driver dreams of racing. It is fast, technical, and full of elevation changes.
Unfortunately we did not have the pace in our No. 86 Michael Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 all weekend.
Our Acura NSX had an actually extremely good balance: it was stopping well and putting power down well, but we just needed more top speed.
I had a good start and made up three spots into Turn 1 and moved up even further and was running close to the pack of GTD cars ahead of me.
I had a good clean dice with Patrick Lindsey back and forth and I saw that people were fighting hard up front and we began to catch up to them.
Unfortunately I got hit by the GTLM No. 3 car going into Turn 3…… really?
I was very disappointed. I ended up hitting the tire wall hard enough to put us out of the race. Disappointment is an understatement.
Until Laguna.
