***Ryan Dalziel of Tequila Patron ESM is auctioning off a 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona sign (above), which has been signed by more than 200 drivers and celebrities. The sign is up for bid on eBay (linked here) through Saturday and as of Tuesday, the bid is more than $2,500, with all proceeds going to Rett Syndrome Research. The Rett Syndrome Research Trust fights to reverse Rett Syndrome and related MECP2 disorders.
***Dane Cameron and wife Sarah welcomed a new baby boy on Monday. Cameron, co-driver of the No. 31 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, posted the news on social media shortly thereafter.
***Official results from the Rolex 24 at Daytona were released last Wednesday, with no changes from the provisional results out a day before.
***Several drivers who competed in the Rolex 24 or CTSC BMW Performance 200 also raced at this weekend’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour. Markus Winkelhock finished second in another Audi R8 LMS ultra, with Stefan Muecke and Darryl O’Young third in their Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, Toni Vilander and Matt Griffin eighth in their Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, Christopher Haase ninth in an Audi R8 LMS ultra, Patrick Long 11th in the Ice Break Porsche 911 GT3 R, and Austin Cindric 21st in his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. Ivo Breukers, Michele Rugolo, Davide Rigon, Oliver Gavin and Kevin Estre, who all also raced in the Rolex 24, failed to finish at Bathurst.
***Compass360 Racing spent the weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway testing both its new Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge ST class Audi S3s, and additionally its Honda Civic Sis. The Audi is slated for a Sebring debut with Jim McGuire and Nicolas Rondet in the No. 74, and Kyle Gimple and Paul Holton in the No. 75.
***Linear Edge, a designer of innovative and unique wall sculptures – primarily high-quality track designs – has partnered with CTSC driver Kyle Marcelli for the 2015 season. Marcelli shares the No. 80 Mantella Autosport Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R with Martin Barkey.
