Andrew Davis has scored a last-gasp pole for tomorrow’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season-opener in the worldwide debut of the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Davis reeled off a 1:52.770 on the final lap of qualifying for the four-hour BMW M Endurance Challenge to edge out the No. 59 KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 of Billy Johnson by 0.262 seconds.

Michael McCann will share driving duties with Davis in the McCann Racing entry.

The No. 28 RS1 Porsche of Stevan McAleer qualified third ahead of Hailie Deegan in the No. 42 PF Racing Mustang GT4, who was fourth.

Dillon Machavern completed the top-five in the No. 95 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 followed by NASCAR driver Harrison Burton, who made it three Mustang GT4s in the top six.

Last-minute fill-in Michael Cooper, meanwhile, qualified the No. 72 Rebel Rock Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R in seventh.

TCR class pole honors went to the No. 77 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR of Tyler Maxson.

Maxson’s 2:01.832 lap time was a considerable 1.155 seconds faster than teammate AJ Muss to give a front-row lockout to the team and manufacturer.

Tim Lewis qualified the No. 5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR third in class, ahead of the highest-placed Audi RS 3 LMS TCR from defending race winner Chris Miller in fourth.
