Doran Racing announced Monday that it will field two Nissan 370Z Nismo RCs in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge GS class this year, beginning with the season-opening round at Daytona later this month.

On the heels of the confirmation of No. 41 entry for Canadians David Empringham and John Farano has now come word that the Ohio-based team will also field the No. 14 Nissan for BJ Zacharias and Brad Jaeger in the entire 12-round championship.

The team campaigned the No. 14 car in five races last year, highlighted by a season-best third place finish at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

“The addition of the 41 car this year is a blessing for both Doran Racing and Nissan Motorsports, as it gives us another bullet in the chamber,” Zacharias said. “David Empringham brings so much to the table for the team with his experience, and working together for three days at Daytona was great.

“Both David and John Farano are great team players, and being able to try different things on chassis setup will really help with the finer details. It basically doubles your testing time.”

The season-opener at Daytona is set for Jan. 24, with same-day TV coverage on FOX Sports 2.
