The No. 1 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR of Michael Lewis assumed the class lead although was passed by the No. 5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR of Tim Lewis with 27 minutes on the clock.
Michael Lewis, meanwhile, went on to have contact with the class pole-sitting No. 37 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Type-R of Ryan Eversley in Turn 7, resulting in a fourth yellow with 22 minutes to go.
There were two further yellows, including one for the No. 98 BHA Hyundai, which stopped on track.
