Jack Hawksworth beat Michael De Quesada to pole position in a red-flag affected qualifying session for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The British driver steered the No. 50 Hattori Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO to a best lap of 1:22.084, outpacing the No. 69 Motorsports In Action McLaren Artura GT4 by 0.403 seconds.

Hawksworth and De Quesada were one of just a handful of GS drivers to set their times before a mid-session red flag was triggered when Justin Di Benedetto went off at Turn 3 in the No. 22 TWOth Autosport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

With no notable improvements coming through after the restart, the two drivers locked out the front row, with the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS of Stevan McAleer and the Paul Holton-driven No. 46 Team TGM Aston Martin Vantage GT4 third and fourth after also setting times early on.

As a result of the majority of the GS-class cars being unable to post a competitive lap time, the overall qualifying order featured several TCR cars in the top ten.

Harry Gottsacker’s TCR-topping time of 1:23.080 left the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR fifth overall, ahead of Rory van der Steur’s No. 19 Aston Martin.

Chris Miller, meanwhile, was seventh overall and second in the TCR class aboard the No. 17 Unitronic/JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS TCR.

Francis Selldorff took sixth in the GS category and eighth overall aboard the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4, with the No. 98 Hyundai of Mason Filippi and the No. 13 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang GT4 completing the overall top ten.

The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 120 kicks off at 1:25 p.m. EDT with live coverage on Peacock and IMSA Radio.
