Robert Megennis has signed with Czabok-Simpson Motorsport for his third full season in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.
After two years racing for Turner Motorsport, the 24-year-old is set to team up with the returning Nikita Lastochkin at CSM, although their partnership will commence at the second round of the season at Sebring International Raceway.
Instead, Megennis will make his team debut in this month’s BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona, where he will share the No. 67 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS with the previously confirmed Morgan Burkhard and Gordon Scully.
Megennis and Lastochkin will then share the No. 2 Porsche for the remainder of the campaign.
“I’m super excited to be joining CSM for my 5th year of IMSA racing,” said Megennis, who also previously competed in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
“Huge thanks to Stephen, Matthias, Porsche Motorsport and the whole team for this opportunity. I love the Porsche platform and IMSA racing. I know we’ll be collecting some hardware this year, so bring on Daytona!”
Lastochkin, for his part, made his Pilot Challenge debut last year with the Indianapolis-based squad, which was founded as a partnership between Matthias Czabok and Stephen Simpson in the summer of 2023.
“I’m excited to have Robert join CSM and also be able to welcome Nikita back for his second season,” said Simpson.
“I’ve known Robert for several years and coached him in 2019 when he raced in the Indy Lights (NXT) series. We stayed in touch and we both worked hard to make this deal happen.
“To have Nikita return is great, we quickly developed a strong relationship last season and look forward to him being able to capitalize on his 2024 experience.
“Robert and Nikita have known each other for many years, so having that instant chemistry was another important factor in putting this program together.”
