Jesse Lazare and Michael De Quesada will reunite for a season of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in Motorsports In Action’s McLaren Artura GT4, it has been revealed.
The two drivers, who were part of the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona GTD class-winning lineup with Alegra Motorsports, are set to share the wheel of MIA’s GS class entry beginning with this month’s BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona International Speedway.
“It’s pretty incredible for us to have two winning 24H of Daytona drivers for our upcoming 2024 IMPC effort, but it’s extraordinary that they were actually teammates in their 2017 win,” said MIA team owner Eric Kerub.
“I’m not sure that’s actually happened before on an IMPC GS team, but if it has, it must be rare.”
Lazare is set to embark on his fifth season with the Canadian squad following the Artura’s debut last year that produced a victory in the season-ending Fox Factory 120 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
“Eric and I discussed this at length prior to the 2023 season,” he said.
“We’ve been down this road before in 2017 with the 570S GT4 so he asked me to commit to two years so that we could capitalize the following year with everything we learned with the car.
“I’m really excited to pair up with Michael, and with a few things now sorted with the Artura, I believe we have a real shot to win.”
De Quesada added: “Reuniting with Carl (Hermez, MIA managing director) and Jesse is a dream scenario for me. I’m super excited for the season ahead.”
