RS1’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport led the way in both IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice sessions for Saturday’s The Esses 120 at The Glen.

Stevan McAleer ended up quickest in the two one-hour sessions, having reeled off a chart-topping 1:55.014 in the opening laps of Practice 1.

McAleer was less than a tenth quicker than co-driver Trent Hindman, who led the way in Practice 2.

Michael Cooper was second quickest in the No. 44 Baby Bull Racing Porsche, followed by the Mid-Ohio-winning No. 88 Archangel Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Aaron Telitz.

Michael de Quesada and Paul Holton completed the top-five for Motorsports In Action and Team TGM, respectively.

The No. 6 MMG Honda Civic Type-R TCR, meanwhile led the way in the TCR class, with the tenth quickest time overall.

The first session was halted three times, the first for Taylor Hagler’s No. 77 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR that stopped in the Turn 5-9 shorcut.

A second red was deployed for debris, while TCR class championship leader Mikey Taylor went off course in Turn 10 in his No. 17 Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS TCR.

The second session, meanwhile, ended early for an accident by the No. 09 Automatic Racing Aston Martin of Rob Ecklin.

Qualifying is set to get underway at 6:30 p.m. EDT this evening.
