IMSA has released the provisional schedule for the 2021 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, featuring a near-identical calendar to what had been planned for this year.

Confirmed during Wednesday’s virtual ‘State of the Sport’ address, the season will again kick off with the Rolex 24 at Daytona, alongside the previously confirmed new date for the Roar Before the 24, which will occur one week prior to the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic.

The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which is slated to close out the 2020 season, is set to move back to its traditional mid-March date, followed by Long Beach and a return of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to late April date, one week after Long Beach.

Mid-Ohio has been moved two weeks back as a result, with the date for Detroit’s Belle Isle still to-be-confirmed.

Watkins Glen International and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park are slated to return to the calendar along with Lime Rock, followed by trips to Road America, Virginia International Raceway and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta to close out the season.

GT Daytona class entries in the Detroit and CTMP will only score points for the WeatherTech Sprint Cup.

The Rolex 24, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen and Motul Petit Le Mans will again serve as rounds of the Michelin Endurance Cup for all five classes.
