Jack Aitken kept Action Express Racing atop the timesheets for the second consecutive Motul Petit Le Mans practice session.
Aitken, piloting the No. 31 Cadillac V-Series.R, reeled off a best lap of 1:10.882 to lead the second of three sessions on Thursday, 0.293 seconds clear of the No. 6 Porsche 963 driven by Matt Campbell.
Filipe Albuquerque took third aboard the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac ahead of Dries Vanthoor’s No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8.
Ross Gunn slotted into fourth in the No. 23 Aston Martin Valkyrie, while Tom Blomqvist completed the top five in the No. 60 Acura ARX-06.
Felipe Nasr picked up seventh in the No. 7 Porsche, followed by the second BMW in the hands of Sheldon van der Linde and Jordan Taylor’s No. 40 Cadillac.
Neel Jani rounded out the overall top ten behind the wheel of the No. 85 JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche.
Alex Quinn topped LMP2 aboard the No. 04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR Oreca 07 Gibson with a best lap of 1:13.074.
Quinn was 0.236 seconds faster than the No. 11 TDS Racing machine of Hunter McElrea.
Ferrari GTD runners led a 1-2 at the head of the GT ranks, with Lorenzo Patrese going quickest with a 1:19.077 at the wheel of the No. 47 Cetilar Racing 296 GT3.
Kenton Koch was 0.081 seconds back in the No. 023 Triarsi Competizione machine, with both cars faster than the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 which led GTD Pro in the hands of Aaron Telitz.
Sebastian Priaulx was second quickest in GTD Pro aboard the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3.
The second of three practice sessions ahead of Saturday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship finale was interrupted by three red flags.
An initial stoppage occurred mere minutes into the session when the No. 81 DragonSpeed Ferrari of Albert Costa stopped on track with a fuel pressure issue.
PJ Hyett spun the No. 99 AO Racing Oreca and was collected by the No. 65 Ford of Christopher Mies at Turn 10a with 30 minutes to go, while Wyatt Brichacek spun the No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo into the Turn 5 gravel 12 minutes later to cause the final interruption.
The third and final WeatherTech Championship practice session is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST.
