Cadillac topped the time charts for the first time at the Roar Before the Rolex 24, with Filipe Albuquerque leading the way in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R.
The Portuguese ace reeled off a 1:36.731 in the 60-minute session, which ran without any major incident or red flags.
His time was some four-tenths slower than Felipe Nasr’s benchmark 1:36.327 lap in the No. 7 Penske Porsche 963 from the opening Roar session that has remained the quickest of the weekend so far.
Nasr’s teammate Kevin Estre posted the second quickest time of the session on Saturday afternoon, followed by the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac of Jack Aitken and Nico Pino’s JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche, which is running in 2025-spec.
Louis Deletraz made it all three Cadillacs in the top-five in his No. 40 WTR entry.
LMP2 was led by the No. 2 United Autosports Oreca 07 Gibson of Ben Hanley, thanks to a 1:39.922 lap time.
His time edged out the No. 8 Tower Motorsports entry of Sebastien Bourdais by 0.121 seconds, with Paul di Resta third in the sister United car.
Romain Grosjean was quickest of all the GT cars in the No. 16 Myers Riley Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 EVO.
The GTD class entry was 0.143 seconds quicker than the GTD Pro pace-setting No. 4 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Nicky Catsburg.
Chris Mies in the No. 65 Multimatic Motorsports Mustang was third quickest amongst the GT contenders.
Both the No. 23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkyrie and No. 77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo did not set times in the session due to undergoing engine changes.
A two-hour night session will wrap up on-track WeatherTech Championship activities, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. ET.
