Colin Braun ended up quickest in the second practice session of the weekend for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.
The Meyer Shank Racing driver led the way with a best lap of 1:32.311 in the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 to narrowly edge out the No. 25 BMW M Hybrid V8 of Connor De Phillippi by 0.004 seconds.
Braun’s time came in the final lap of the 1 hour and 45-minute session, which saw times tumble in the closing stages in the GTP class.
Augusto Farfus set the third quickest time in the sister BMW M Team RLL entry, followed by the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R of Pipo Derani and Nick Tandy, who completed the top-five in the No. 6 Penske Porsche 963.
LMP2 was led by the No. 8 Tower Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson of Kyffin Simpson, who laid down a 1:36.458 to edge out the No. 11 TDS Racing entry of Mikkel Jensen.
An accident for Mark Kvamme, a last-minute substitute for Dennis Anderson in the No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca, resulted in a red flag in the final 30 minutes of the session.
Contact was made between Kvamme’s LMP2 car and the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Bryan Sellers, which sustained damage to its nose and went behind the wall for repairs.
A spin for Orey Fidani in the No. 13 AWA Duqueine D08 Nissan brought out the session’s first red flag with 51 minutes left on the clock.
The class was paced by the sister No. 17 Duqueine of Wayne Boyd, ahead of Josh Burdon’s No. 74 Riley Ligier JS P320 Nissan, which was second.
Aaron Telitz was quickest of the GT cars, having reeled off a 1:45.320 in the GTD class No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 to lead a Lexus 1-2, thanks to a late session improvement by Jack Hawksworth in the No. 14 GTD Pro entry.
The No. 78 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 of Loris Spinelli was third quickest and second in GTD, followed by the GTD Pro class No. 23 The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
