The Cadillac V-Series.R has been given a power increase ahead of this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, as part of the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments.
Released last week by IMSA, the BoP table confirms a 10 kW (13.4 horsepower) boost for Cadillacs compared to the last round at Detroit at the first-stage power levels.
It compares to a 5 kW (6.7 hp) increase for the BMW M Hybrid V8 at first-stage, while the Acura ARX-06 and Lamborghini SC63 will both run at the maximum power output of 520 kW (697 hp).
In a change for Watkins Glen, the first-stage power threshold is now 230 km/h, with stage-two set for speeds 240 km/h and above.
This compares to 190 km/h and 200 km/h, respectively, that was utilized on the Detroit street circuit.
While there are no power level changes to the Porsche 963 or Aston Martin Valkyrie, the BMW gets a 10 kg weight increase, and the Acura gains 8 kg of additional weight.
The Lamborghini, meanwhile, has been baselined at 1030 kg, the same weight as the Aston Martin and Cadillac, as the Italian manufacturer makes its first WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start since the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
The GTD ranks, meanwhile, sees weight adjustments for the BMW M4 GT3 EVO (-14 kg), Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R (+6 kg) and Ferrari 296 GT3 (-4 kg).
While all cars except for the Ford Mustang GT3 have gone through maximum power changes at the first stage, the most notable increase comes with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, which gets a 4 percent boost in V1 speeds.
The first stage power threshold for GTD Pro and GTD is set at 190 km/h, with stage two kicking in at speeds over 200 km/h for Watkins Glen.
