Romain Grosjean and new Lamborghini signing Matteo Cairoli will join the Iron Lynx GTD lineup for next month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Grosjean and Cairoli will team up with the previously confirmed Matteo Cressoni and Claudio Schiavoni aboard the No. 60 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener.
It will mark Cairoli’s first race appearance behind the wheel of a Lamborghini since he was announced to be joining the Italian manufacturer’s roster of LMDh factory drivers earlier this week.
Although Cairoli hasn’t raced Lamborghini’s GT3 offering before, he has experience racing with Iron Lynx through a season in the European Le Mans Series.
He shared a Porsche 911 RSR-19 with both Cressoni and Schiavoni, taking a class victory at Spa-Francorchamps.
Grosjean, meanwhile, is set for his third start in WeatherTech Championship competition, having contested last year’s Daytona opener and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Both of those races, however, were as part of the GTD Pro class.
Iron Lynx’ GTD Pro effort for this year’s race consists of Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli, Franck Perera and Jordan Pepper.
