Matt Campbell led a Porsche Penske Motorsport 1-2 in final practice prior to qualifying for the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Campbell recorded a best lap of 1:14.085 in the No. 7 Porsche 963 to edge out the sister No. 6 entry of Mathieu Jaminet by 0.185 seconds.
The pair of Team RLL-run BMW M Hybrid V8s were third and fourth, led by the No. 24 car of Philipp Eng over teammate Nick Yelloly.
Sebastien Bourdais completed the top-five overall and in the GTP class.
LMP2 was led by the No. 11 TDS Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of Mikkel Jensen, while Matt Bell put the No. 13 AWA Duqueine D08 Nissan on top in LMP3, although it ended the session in the gravel with Orey Fidani, which brought out the third of three red flags during the session.
An off-course excursion by Louis Deletraz in the No. 8 Tower Motorsport Oreca and debris from contact between the No. 20 High Class Racing of Dennis Andersen and Dwight Merriman’s No. 18 Era Motorsport LMP2 cars in Turn 1 resulted in two earlier red flags.
Klaus Bachler put the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R on top in GTD Pro, thanks to a 1:22.905 lap time, while the No. 78 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 of Loris Spinelli was quickest in GTD.
The No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Jules Gounon was third in the production-based ranks.
